    Hello all,

    I have following hardware
    Motherboard Model Name : GA-K8N51GMF-9
    --------------------------
    M/B Rev : 1.0
    BIOS Ver : 6
    VGA Brand : Nvidia
CPU Brand : AMD Model : athlon X2
    Operation System : Win XP

I have DVD dual layer burner and CD burner combo installed in this system. I am trying to boot from DVD but system not booting from bootable DVD. However, i can boot from bootable CD fine.
already have my DVD/CD drive set as first boot drive under boot sequence in BIOS.
    what could be wrong ?
is there something additional i should do to make my DVD/CD drive boot DVDs ?
any help will be appreciated .

What bootable DVD have you got? Are you sure the disc works? Have you tried it in another PC?

yea my cousin has the same prob, when you boot from a disk it thinks of the disk drive in command, with his even if the dvd drive is master it wont work. We have to go into the bios, and under boot options there is a section (not boot order) its called boot drives, and its refering to the dsk media drivers, we just put the dvd drive at the top.
