PSP motherboarb compatibility guide(Full)

Hey guys. Quick question. Can I shrink an ISO even further into a CSO and still have it work? Do I need the original UMD to do it, or can I shrink the ISO image? Thanks in advance! Awesome forum.

you can downgrade a ta-082 mother board now, but only upto fw 2.71, still thats a start and im sure that the rest will follow, sony is just not doin so good, they throw a road block and the psp scene bust it down, props to dark_alex for this release, i have tested it on a ta-082 and it worked perfectly the only sketchy part is loading up hend as it took a few trys but running hend cannot brick ur psp only downgrading so its safe and will just get safer from here :):)

original psp 1.5-->3.02oe-a-->3.02oe-b-->3.03oe-a-->3.03oe-a-->3.03oe-b-->3.03oe-c-->3.10oe-a--->5.00m33-4--->slim 5.00m33-4--->phat original 5.00m33-4 as its the superiour psp

Letter L, fw 2.81

Simple question: can I use this to play my ISO, can I use the same guide as for the downgrading the 2.71fw?

It just seems very straight forward and I don't want to buy the L and have to go thru all kinds of stuff. :)

Thanks

No,you need to downgrade first to 1.5 or 2.7.

#130 02 Jan 2007 @ 15:24
Hmm I thought there was no way to downgrade to v2.71?

Thanks

And if so how or where may I find a guide to downgrade?

Happy New Year.

there is no way to down grade from 2.8 the most u can downgrade from is a 2.71 and right now you can downgrade ALL psp mother boards 2.71 or lower, when there is a 2.8 downgrader you can bet the tutorial will b spot number one on this site

Great and thanks for the confirmation on not being able to downgrade at this time.

I will look for the K version and go from there.

Quick question for confirmation purposes. I currently have a new PSP unopened with Letter I (firmware 2.6) I am assuming.

I want to play my backups. :) I don't really care about homebrew etc just my backups.

Best bet is to upgrade to v2.71? Then follow the guide?

Thanks
#143 06 Jan 2007 @ 1:45

Hi all.

i have got myself a PSP (PSP1006CW), V1.5 but unfortunately it is a TA-082 set. Is there any 'non-original' UMD games available around in the market? Or only ISO games to be played from the memory stick? I was considering if I should upgrade to V2.71 and install Dev/HenC to play the ISO games. But I also know that if I upgrade to V2.71, I can't downgrade again to V1.5 anymore due to the TA-082 mobo...

Any kind ladies/gentlemen able to comment? If there's 'un-original' UMD games around, can version 2.71 play these games?

Thanks.

So one last question before I go looking for a PSP. The difference between I (f2.60) and K (f2.71) in terms of me playing backups is ?? just an extra step upgrading the I to 2.71? No other differences?
So I can get either I or K.

Thanks for ALL your help

Thanks for ALL your help[/quote]the only difference between the 2 are with the 2.8 you will need to downgrade to 2.71 then to 1.5 with the 2.71 you go right to 1.5
so yes the only difference is an extra step in downgrading, but go fast cause sony is going to release the next firmware update then you will be hooped...................for another week lol

Not 2.8. 2.8 is box L not K. K is 2.71 as i understand.
#148 06 Jan 2007 @ 13:43
all you have to know is if you are 2.8 or lower you are in the clear 2.81 or higher you gotta wait another month till they cracked it, either one of those versions is fine, if its a ta-082 motherboard u gotta update to 2.71 if its not then u are able to downdate to 1.5 either way goto www.psp-hacks.com they will have guides and all you need if u need links let me know

Hi,

I have tried to update the firmware from v1.5 to v2.71, but
while I was doing that, there was this error message to prompt
me to change my battery, as the battery level was low. The thing is,
I'm using the PSP via AC supply? Do I need to put in the battery
in order to upgrade the FW? Kinda weird..

Any kind pple able to comment and help me on this? THanks!

yes you do need the battery in as well as the ac adaptor also if the battery life is below 30% your psp wont let you upgrade, its a saftey issue with sony so that if the power went out in the middle of an upgrade they wont be held responsible for a bricking, either way its best to have a fully charged psp and the ac adapter when upgrading/downgrading
