Finally i've got my SD Media Launcher (PAL version).
    1st i burned 5 mini-dvd TDK, whit Nero at 2x... nome worked;
So i burned more 5 mini-dvd TDK, with Imgburn at 1x.... and got one to work.
Then i got mini-dvd FujiFilm DVD-R, and burned 3 backups with Imgburn at 1x, and all worked!!!
I used a burner LG, and GCoS 1.X (GCoS 1.5 didn' work).
And the best of all is that i didn't needed to adjust the Gamecube laser.

    Thanks for this great tutorial!!!

So from what I've gathered from this thread is that Fuji Mini DVD-R's burned at the slowest speed in IMGburn or CloneCD is one of if not the best way to burn your backups.

GCoS libogc Public Beta is the best bios to run to date to get the majority of the games to run and the only one that allows for two disc games.

Also does anyone have a copy of "Wiped_Gcm_Fixer_v1.5f" that they could be kind enough to post somewhere or email to me? [phi(at)2die4.com]

    Thanks

I have had a 100% success rate [over 50 backups] with Ritek Ridata 4X, also used 10 Sonys with success.
I suppose there will be variables between media, burning apps and burners, but I sure am not going to experiment any more as I cannot do better than I have - And at under $30 for 50 dvdr's, not too bad price wise either.

Can i add backup gamecube games onto the SD card itself and load via that? I know i would need the 2GB SD Card because games at 1.5GB each.

Well I got Phillips DVDR and none will go past the initial logo screen.

Is Mini DVD the exact same thing as 1.5 DVDs? Because every time I see Mini DVD it's associated with camcorders.

    Are these good?

And where can I buy a few Fuji to try out? I was all excited and nothing :( Tried both ImgBurn and Nero.

    Sigh.

I think you mean the laser (haven't figured out what pot stands for). I prefer not to open the GC, which is why I want a SoftMod option. I spent $24 total on 10 Fuji and 10 Ritek to test them out before I do anything else. Other people have had success without adjusting the laser, so hopefully I can too :) I even tried GCOS 1.5 and that other release that someone linked to on the previous page.

Well none of my backups would work, after I adjusted the pot [potentiometer] they all play flawlessly.
As you say, what works for one guy may not work for the next, and naturally no one wants to fiddle with the innards of an electronic device if they don't have to, but its something you'll probably have to do from the sound of it.
The worse part is them dang security screws, plenty of info in this thread how to get them suckers out. Its really not as bad as you might imagine, assuming you have a multimeter and know how to use it, once the screws are out it only takes minutes to adjust.
If you don't have one and don't know how to use one, no prob.
Get one for $15, a 9 year old could read it for this minor adjustment.

    Didn't happen to me.
I couldn't boot backups until I did the laser mod, but it booted the datel DVD no prob.

The SD Media Launcher is great! I haven't had any problems with it. All backups have worked so far. I guess I was lucky in that I didn't have to adjust my laser at all.

Im not sure why your Gamecube wouldnt read your SD Media Laucher disc....unless its possible you ordered or received a different region disc (PAL or NTSC). You may want to check. If not, you may have a bunk disc. Contact Datel.

I started a thread about this disk a couple weeks back.
I got to thinking, if that disk got messed up I'd be screwed so I tried to back it up, and low and behole it seems datel does not want you to back this up, at least I couldn't get my setup to burn a copy.
So I don't know, if thats the case that seems pretty shabby to me.

There is no need to backup your games. As far as I know, its not an easy process anyways. Just look around.... you can find any and all Gamecube readily available for your downloading pleasure. Magic word: BitTorrent!

Got SD Media Launcher and all my backups (PAL and NTSC) work fine using Imgburn at 2x speed with Traxdata Mini DVD-R. However, want to use Action Replay with my Backups using SD Media Launcher and it wont let me. I boot using GCOS 1.5, then if I use Boot Game it will load but when I try to us with a backup it says No Disc. Ive also tried using the Action Replay option under Misc but just get a message saying what disc it is then a black screen. Anybody know a solution to this so I can use my Action Replay? Any help much appreciated.
