yes everybody in Dublin is experiencing this. you will need to flash your starview to v2.55 or 2.57 and input the keys manually.

What about when the keys are changed again. Are we all doomed to have to constantly change the keys manually or is someone workin on a version that will work properly here? Anyone know how often these keys are changed? weeks/months?

There is a rumour doing the rounds that nthell are going to do this on a regular basis. We will just have to wait and see.

Will 257 firmware prevent temporary freezing of channels?
The 259 version seems to cause this.

Same problem in derby since I flashed with v300.

Also where can I get the lead from so I can save my channel list and flash the receiver myself?

Is there a cheap lead from a trustworthy site?

This is the lead you need.
http://cgi.ebay.ie/Serial-Null-Modem-Cab...1QQcmdZViewItem

If you dont have a serial port in your computer you will also need a USB to serial converter like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-to-Serial-RS23...1QQcmdZViewItem
Both can be gotten at maplin or PC world

Thanks for the links tonto67, I don't use eBay because of some dim-witted feedbacks experiences with some rather chenille eBay members.

Is there an alternative site which would sell the lead at a competitive price and have a good service to buyers in the UK?

Hey rbhojani

click on start at the bottom left of your screen, click settings, then control panel, click on add and remove programes, You will have to remove things sucj as printers and blue tooth devices and thin gs, then use the comport for your lead, i was having the same trouble for hours, then i checked my comports and it was saying my lead was on com port 7 so i deleted loads and hey it worked perfect

[quote][quote=pepsimax1]Hi PPL

All my channels are now scrambled/bad channel. I have updated with the keys posted on hear, worked all day yesterday and this morning, however now not working. Key EMU is on, Running on 2.57, All help welcome. when running auto scan, o channels found. Help please.
Hi Asad - I was told to do a factory reset, but all i have got now is dashes where the cannels where displayed, parental control is greyed out and cannot access. appreciate you thoughts so far ASAD

It seems you have not done a scan yet. Before those options are available you must do a scan of your network.

HI Asad - Thanks for your help, I had to do it a number of times before I got going. I entered the installation mode and carried out a channel search and it seemed to kick start it self. All working fine now. Thanks for your help. Am stil running on 2.57 as I do not have the cables or sftware, but have heard that the 3.00 is unstable with many ppl experiencing intermittent freezes. Thanks H

The freezing and scrambling problems is not a firmware problem, my cousin has a genuine nthell box and pays £30 a month, io was around there yesterday and he's box did it about 5 times whilst i was there, it just kept going off, saying scrambled and then coming back on, therefor io think it is an ntlhell problem

You can set the channels alphabetically, but then you still might want to organise the channels accordingly.

Got a way of sorting that problem witht the intermittant bad channel on the 300!!
If you load the 300 on the bx you can reload the 257e over it and the bx functions proper!
None of that happens after
Also i revived two clone bxs by loading the 300 software on them , then putting on the 257e after ..

When you say revived. Does that mean a dead box.

Yeah that'll work until the next key roll. Its not really a fix it amounts to the same as manually entering the key but would take 20 times as long. Your still left with the problem when the key is changed you'd have to do it again and it sounds like key changes could be a daily event soon.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.
right then, hi all. well if your starview box has just gone off then here's how i've just fixed mine. it was doing exactly the same as described above, just updating. right have it on any channel and press the menu button, now dont go into anything, so there should just be a list of options up. now press 1570 on the remote and a secret set of options comes up. select nagravision, now with the key number on 00 go to the key data and it starts DF, go onto the F and press 5 so it changes and then starts with D5 instead then press ok to store it. now go up to the key number and change it to 01 and a different key data code will come up, this should start with EE change this in the same mannor as before to E4 and press ok to save again. now exit the menu's to find all your channels back. happy viewing.
