"Western Digital Anywhere Access software, which is designed to allow users of the company's backup and Web sharing storage device, the My Book World Edition, to share files over the internet. The problem for many users is that it won't share most common multimedia formats." Does this mean that all Western Digital external hard drives will be crippled even for personal use with a home computer? Thanks in advance.
Well, it means you won't be able to use that system to share MP3s, AVI video files and probably also exes. There are plenty of other multimedia sharing methods though.
