can i burn xvcd's onto a dvdr? i have no problems burning onto cdr's, but i now have a dvd recorder, and instead of going through all the hard work of ripping the dvd the long way, if all i want is the film, can i simply use nero and burn it onto dvdr instead. and will my standalone probably play it?

Did you get an answer to your question? I was wondering about that too.

To my knowledge xvcd isn't greatly supported on a lot of standalone dvd players. Where as svcd and vcd.

For putting your vcd and svcd's to dvd-r go to this site http://www.doom9.org/mpg/svcd2dvdr.htm
Very good
