laptop question

    my dad just got a del latitude c610 from his friend

    and it says "this computer system is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer iwthout the correctt password."

    he got it from his friend and he doesnt know the password. how can i get around it??

    Is that in windows? If so, you can just boot into safe mode, log into the admin and delete the password. Or you can reformat the HDD and reinstall the OS.

    you cant use F8. a white screen comes up saying this. and on boot up at the top it says hit F2 OR F12 and when i do i get pushed to the white screen again.
