windows 98 laptop to xp?

    what do i need to upgrade a compaq presario 1690 running windows 98.

    it says under system

    authentic AMD
    AMD-K6(tm) 3d Processor
    64.0MB RAM (hahahahaha)


    please help. if i cant then ill just give this thing away

    Technically, it will run windows XP the way it is but it will run very bad. To make it run better, you will need 128 (256) RAM and probably a better processor. Not worth upgrading. Windows 2000 will run better on it. What is the CPU speed? Use the program "CPU Speed" or "CPUz" to check the CPU speed.

    give it away as xp supposedly needs 128meg to install but will run with 64meg but is slooooowwww!!!
