I really want to build a new system, and I know the basics, but what is really good for my money out now? I do alot of gaming, and burning dvds, ect. What can I build around those specs? What is the suggested memory, psu, cpu, video card, ect? What am I looking at for a decent modern computer?
What I have now, is an IBM Netvista 3.0
    FX5200 128mb.
    500gb hd.
    2 lite on dvd+-r
    2.5gb memory
    xpsp2
    260w psu

Am I better off swapping some of these parts into a newer built pc?
    Please help......

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS

You could probably save the HDD as a backup, and the same with the OS and optical drive but all the other stuff has to go.

What is your overall budget? And, do you play demanding games like Crysis or are you a BF2/CS:S guy?

Well Im big on games, and I have all the games, but not the right equipment to play them! I really want something that will support the old and new games. I have Crysis, Call of Duty 4, ect. (alot of RTS & shooter games). Budget between $300-$500

Wow, you ill definitely need a higher budget than that. $800 would probably be the minimum, but a computer that costs that much wont be able to play Crysis.

OK, I may be able to do $800, what do you suggest I buy? From top to bottom with the price of each item more or less. Thanks for the help
