I'm about ready to head off to dream town. But, we can get started with some questions to help diagnose your issue. To begin, Is your system fully updated with service pack 1? What kind of virus protection are you running? What brand and model computer? Besides the mouse, and keyboard; What else is hooked up to the PC, and how is it connected? What have you done, so far, to try to fix it? When did you first notice the problem, and what were you doing when it happened? Are you receiving any error messages? If so, what are they exactly? Have you ran any type of anti-virus scans on the system?
no sp1 did not think it come out till next year avg is the antivirus the pc it bulit by me spec are as fowllows DualCore Intel Pentium D 820 2.8ghz (clocked to 3500 MHz 14 x 250) Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB ddr2667 (clocked to speeds of ddr2800) mobo Abit AW8D Seagate sata2 80gb main drive seagate sata2 500gb back up drive ATI Radeon 2600xt psu 570W Pro PSU Dual Fan PW-5500 Windows Vista Ultimate x64 nothing relly is hocked up my psp some times tred nothing so far ever since the install a week ago error messages none so far agv scans all the time but never finds enything
When you say crashes, do you mean reboots, or Windows freezes up? Describe the behavior? Yes, Vista Service Pack 1, is available with over 100 fixes. Have you gone to Windows update and took a look lately? Do you get any usually beep codes? Should be a green or red light on the MOBO, see if it's green. Have you checked hardware monitoring in BIOS to make sure your fans are cooling properly and the CPU is not overheating? Anyway, I'm shuting down now will be back in 8 hours. Think it over and see if you can provide any more information that would be helpful.
If I where you, I would reset everything back to there defaults speeds ( by that I mean the cpu and memory.) If you can't do that you need to check your cpu temp and make sure it's not running too hot. If you don't have a cpu/memory overheating problem check your video card next. When you have the computer crashing all the time, it's usually going to be the cpu, memory or video card. use this free utility to check your cpu temp http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
ive been over clocking this pc at this speed for 5 months nos now and not had a problem it on;y resently it been crashing temp are cpu 47 gpu 40 motherboard 30 harddrive 29
