hi i have a eurovox witch was previously working.but froze.when switched of then back on.only getting red power light.and it will not turn back on.no clock display or anything would be gratefull if anyone can help
As there seems to be power going to it, it may be a capacitor thats at fault.Try the C14,the 1000uf cap is nearly always the culprit, this has sorted out quite a few boxes for a lot of people over the last few months, hence why you should check caps before going down the jtag route. If it is domed/bulging this may be your problem. Here is where you will find it:
yep had a look inside.the capacitor is domed.is it easy to get sorted or am i as cheap to get another box.thanx again for your help.
any ideas where ican get this done.eg would a tv repair shop be able to do this.or would i have to get the part myself and try to get someone to solder it in for me.if the later where can i buy the bit. thanx again.
Its quite easy to do and you can get the caps in Maplins. If you feel uncomfortable doing it, yes a TV repair shop will do it for you.
thanks very much for all your help i will try and get this done over the holiday period.will let you know how it went.
hi i have got the power back to the box. but when i switched on the channel list is there but it comes up no signal.would appreciate some more help on this thanx.
Sorry I am just heading out the door if you can see the Eurovox menu on the screen, just go to menu, config, clear channel data press OK. Then do a full powerscan, (as I do not know your location and provider), or you could get a CDF for your area and provider and download this to your box also. Sometimes the scart outlet needs to be reset if you cannot see the menu screen, but looks like you can.
cleared data and done a scan.now getting channel not currently available.what is a cdf.location central scotland.provider virgin media.or can i do a flash i have a null modem but not any images.thanx
forgot to add this info if any help mod dvb-xcbox v tda s/w.1.0stc4 jun 8 2007 h/w.2.0t k5 bootstrap v002
You could update your firmware but it fine for now. I know you are with VM, but are you with Telepest of exC*W?
Have you done a normal powerscan, using symbol rate 6952 and a frequency range from 100.000 to 800.000.
Are you plugged directly into the incoming feed and into the RF Cable in socket on the back of the box?
