    I got this converter that will convert a HDMI signal to a DVI signal but the box requires a source of power and i think the plug that came with the converter is a European plug and i live in the United States. Is there any way i can use an American plug with the converter? OR if i do will that short circuit the converter and render it useless?

    The converter is called XCM-HDMI,DVI crossover selector here is a pic of the converter http://www.xcm.cc/HDMI-DVI-Select-2.jpg

    On the plug its self it says this;
    XCM AC Adapter
    5v
    Input: 100v ~ 240v 50/60HZ
    OUTPUT: 5v--1A

    -Thanks for any and all help

    Looks like it's compatible with either power source (which is good). Unfortunately from that picture I can't tell what type of plug it uses for power. It's probably an IEC kettle lead or figure-8 lead, both of which you can easily get hold of in the US.

    That's a UK plug, not a european one, hehe.
    Best I can suggest is get a multi-connector adapter that lets you select the voltage and connector type.

    Do your monitor and your adapter box support HDCP? You may have some problems if they don't, I forget whether the PS3 demands HDCP when you use HDMI or not.
