I can't access some websites on my PC, it comes up with internet explorer cannot display webpage. But if I log off and go on my Dads or sisters background then it will let me go on the websites then. So its obviously something wrong with my account. Its very annoying, like if I need a patch for a game or something I have to log off just to get on the page that will let me download it! Any help please? Thanks.
Sounds like either you have a website filter on your account or the web browser you are using has been configured to block certain sites. In internet explorer try looking in tools - internet options - Security, then click Restricted Sites and click sites. Also try another web browser on your account like firefox and see if that works.
I know I dont have a website filter on my account and ive tried going to restricted sites and there are no sites in the list, ive tried firefox aswell and the same thing happens. Its weird how the same sites work on another account on my pc.
Odd, are you running anything to protect you for torrents on your account? (EG: PeerGuardian) They can be configured to block HTTP and it sees almost anything as a threat with me... if so, tick the box that says "Allow HTTP".
Ah good point. My account is the only one on the PC that runs peerguardian. It was on block HTTP but i've unblocked it now. Problem now is I can't remember a website it was blocking before to see if it still blocks it now I'll know if I can go on whatever and it dont pop up saying it can't show webpage, which happens at least once when im on the PC. Thanks for helping me with my problem everyone, my websites will probably work now I bet, didn't think of peerguardian Thanks again.
