I've had this device since DEC. last year. After i started to put music on it it would decide to play only certain artists and not the ones i've listened to before!!So i figured i'd just delete everything on it and start over....but i cant figure out how to delete my music off of it!!PLEASE HELP ME!!!

If you Format the device wouldn't this erase all folders and settings off the device and leave a blank unit?

No it only erases the user end programs. These units have a kinda "bios" based system that is flashable and upgradable. I have formatted mine MANY TIMES! :) Also I am not at mine right now but there is 2 settings in the usb setting features. I dont know the difference other than the first setting when connected lets the fireware update/put video files and the second setting lets this device work properly with Rhapsody and Media Player. I know I had it on the first setting and my vista kept crashing out on me when I opened the folders list in Rhapsody. Once I changed the usb setting it works like a dream! I am so so glad that I got this unit over the iPod Nano, It beats it hands down!
