I'm very new to this. I just bought a new 15 inch powerbook with a superdrive about a month ago and I really have no idea where to start when it comes to ripping DVD's onto my hard drive, and then burning it onto a DVD that works on most other DVD players. Can someone just tell me what programs to use to do this, and what exactly I need to do in these programs.
    Thanks

The quickest way to learn how to do it is by going to the forum named *DVDr for newbies* and do nothing but read for an hour or so. Near the top in that forum is a basic run-down of how you backup a DVD. Start there.

Do a search for *Copying DVDs* and you'll see tons of posts that explain the process.

In the *Guides* section, there are step by step instructions on how to do it also.

Just go look....it's all right there.

Since you have a Mac, go to the "DVD Ripping with Mac" thread on this forum for more Mac-centric information.
