I have a friend who has a computer that just recently started giving him an error that says "This copy of windows is not genuine. You may be a victim of software conterfeiting." Does he need to pay for another key or can he call MS & let them know someone stole his key or what? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Call Ms to find out whats up, could be a false reading and they'll reissue another key or he could've bought a pirated copyand they'll want to know where it was bought at. I had that happen on a XP home ed that was bought at a B&M store and it was a false reading that they reissued another key code. Chris
