PSP won't read memory card anymore! please help

My memory card was working fine but then all of a sudden it won't get detected by my PSP. I assume that I would need to format it, but I will lose some of my precious game files, movies, and photos. I tried to connect my PSP to a PC with a USB connection but I can back up the files that way because the computer can't pick up on the memory stick since the PSP doesn't detect it. Is there any way I can back up my files before I format the memory stick? or did I lose it all?

can you put it a sony product use the usb on camera/ps3 etc and open it that way..good luck

GO here to find out if your MS is fake or not...
Try formating it... your Files must be in your computer cause you just copied it from it.... unless you cut + paste it to your PSP.. =\

ya, i kind of cut and pasted the files becuase they were too risky to leave on the family computer. Anyways I purchased a 4MB Sony memory card for about $45 on ebay, hopefully this one should be better because my last one was a "leisurestore" and I bought it from China.

Same thing happened to me, your memory card is corrupt...nothing you can do now, Mine was a genuine one however i bought mine of a retailer so i was easily able to exchange it.

And btw 95% of mem cards on ebay r fake.

Something similar just happened to me. MEmory stick was working just a couple of day ago with cfw, could run isos etc.

A friend of mine bought a sony t500 camera but no memory card so I lent him mine. Just got the card back and after putting it in the psp it wont detect it at all!

I have a sony w220 camera, placed it in that and it detects it I can format the MS and take pictures. Even after formatting it both in the w220 and also via the PC, placing the MS in the psp still ends with the same result, it wont detect it.

Read the guide about fake MS and from that i'm guessing mine is a fake (though I rmeember the psp saying it supported magicgate???) But why work a couple of days ago in the psp but not now whilst there are no problems using it in a camera?
