CPU Question

Ok i just got a pentium d 925 3.0 processor. i got it in a bundle. i just wanted to know if there was a performance difference and how much compared to a pentium 4 2.8? the motherboard is an nvidia 680 LT i will soon be upgrading to a quad core. since i know this board supports it. that aint till later. could someone plz help me with this question? thanks

 

The Pentium D will perform better as it's a dual core CPU.

 

how much of a performance boost? i've been surfing the web trying to find a chart with no luck.

i say that but i couldnt find the processors on it. unless im blind. i dont know the exact number for the pentium 4. i just know its a 2.8. umm playing supreme commander with the pentium d. would that be a big performance boost on that game? compared to the p4. i also got 2 gigs of memory. ddr2 533

 

Your two comparison processors will have the red bars. Look again.

 

ok theres 2 p4 2.8. i dont know which one is the one i have. thanks for you help. i can live with those numbers. besides i'll only have the pd for like 2-3 months. ill eventually get the quad.

 

Yeah hopefully by then more programs will support it.
