I know this question was asked and answered before but I did nto fully understand the answer so I apologize for posting this. I am runnign win 98, I'm using nero 5.5, I cannot update to 6.0 because my version came with my cd-r-rom, I have manually installed the apsi drivers needed for nero (neroapix and wnaspi32 or something like that) and I stopped giving me the drivers error message but now when I try to burn it only recognizes an image recorder (virtual device) So I;m not real good with this. I have installed 1 or 2 other burning software packages (which I have since un-installed) but I thought i should mention this incase it has something to do with it. Also a while ago I had to download a driver from Ahead for my cd-r-rom becuz it was not on my computer. I can play music I just cannot record. Someone please post some info on the subject or even a link to a site or thread that can help me out. ty,

hi cata when you say nero only allows you to burn to image does it recognise your writer when you go to choose recoerders bob
