Samsung DVD player problem

    Just bought a samsung dvd player dvd-1080p7 upconverter. Also bought a samsung dvd-r155 recorder. Problem is that I can't get a good picture off these things no matter how much I mess with the settings. I can get it respectable but once I stop the dvd and resume play, the color and brightness are off again. What's the deal?

    i would exchange it to see if its the DVD pllayer or your TV set
