I don't do very many games on my PC, but I have heard that it is possible
to load or copy a disk (CD or DVD) onto the hard drive and then be able
to play the game without having to load the disk into the ROM.

    Is this true?

If so, can anyone lead me to how to do it ?

PS - don't choke, but I like TRESPASSER and MYST and RIVEN....

I think you're talking about ISOs (or so called mini-images, usually .mds) that you mount with virtual drives (such as DaemonTools), tricking the game into thinking you have the disk in a drive.

What you have to do is download and install DaemonTools, then find a mini-image of the game in question (probably called a no-cd crack) and mount it with DaemonTools, then run the game.
