Looking for advice on what to upgrade...

    What I have is detailed below, I was thinking about a new processor and gfx card but I think I would need to get a new mobo b4 I do for it to be worth it. thx for feedback...

    Case: Antec Nine Hundred -I should have it by Jan.3 (here is a link to it)
    MoBo: Abit KD7A VIA KT400A
    RAM: 1GB
    CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2400+
    GFX card: MSI GeForce FX 5500 256mb
    HD: Western Digital 80GB

    your motherboard is outdated and wont run anything new. so if you want tto upgrade you will need a new mobo and new ram. what is your price range and what will you be doing with your computer. if you plan on gaming then a core 2 duo and a 3870 or an 8800gt will be a good upgrade. Also what kind of power supply do you have? you might also need to get a new one to hanfle the newer parts.

    One of the cheapest ways to get better performance is to increase the memory. Go from the 1gig you have to 2gig. Either add to the current sticks if space is available or get two more that are a matched pair. The next would be to give it a mild overclock, go too far and you'll end up spending lots on cooling the cpu down.
    This might give you an idea or two...
