I am getting a error message when i try to play a store bought DVD on MS Media player 9, something to the effect of " Can not play movie to to copy right protection" i cant find the codec updates for media player 9 ? anyone ?
WMP does not include a decoder for these mpeg2 files. Either a third party decoder has to be installed to allow WMP to playback the DVD or download a player like VLC, which plays back most any video file format. http://www.videolan.org/ http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_play_mpg_mpeg.cfm This is a third party codec for mpeg2;I haven't tried it. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Stinky_MPEG_2_Codec.htm
Thanks attar I have VLC, it does its job when others wont open files but its kinda RAW, i went to the codec site and found the mirror but had problems when unzipped, its telling me "file must be fully unzipped to view application" i thought i had unzipped it.
If you mean thr 'Stinky' codec, I downloaded and unzipped it ok. http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=1803&s=69
