I just got a cable connection by my computer so I put in a TV tuner in it and am using WinTV 2000 to watch TV. The picture quality on the computer is sometimes excellent and other times the picture is completely blurry and shaky as if the cable in the back is lose. Is this a software problem or could this be a splitter problem? Is there any other software better than WinTV 2000?

I think it's more of a tuner problem. I've used different tuner cards ATI AIW 7500 and 9600, MSI, avertv etc and some of them are better than others, but each had channels that wouldn't come in clear. Right now I use the hauppgauge pvr150 and that one gets good reception on all the channels.

If your cable connection is good and solid, and gets all the channels when hooked up to a regular tv, then I would point to the tuner card being the cuprit of the bad reception.

Its only occasionally that it happens though. I might look at getting a new TV Tuner but I used to use it for my PS2 and I never had problems with that so it could also be the specific channels. Most of the time though, all channels work. This is a old card that I bought for $10 or so at a garage sale.
