My problem is that I have a P5GD2-x motherboard that supports 600, 533 and 400 MHz DDR2 speeds of ram. As these speeds are nearly Impossible to find nowadays, could I get a 667MHz DDR2 ram unit and somehow slow it down to work on my computer?

or would it just automatically work at the slower speeds, no trouble?

A new motherboard isn't an option.

*edit* And if you even have a vague Idea please tell me because there is a very good deal ending in an hour. if I get an answer before then I will be a very happy chappy. thanks in advance.

667mhz (PC5300) DDR2 memory should work fine in that board.
