   whenever i try to move a file onto my external harddrive i get an error saying "the file ***** cannot be moved because "NTFS" (My HD) cannot be modified"
   
   any help?
   
   
   ok. its a read only...how do i change it?

   You could check out NTFS-3G Stable Read/Write Driver.
   It is free, open source and will allow you to write to the HD.
