I just got a brand new 32 inch Sony Bravia and it is great. The HDTV channels look excellent and i love it. I got a brand new set of component cables and when i put in a DVD in through them there is faint lines and a little snowy distortion on the screen. It's not real bad but it's just enough to kinda make things look fuzzy. I hook the same dvd player up through composite cables in Video 1 and all that distortion is gone. The picture just isn't as good with composite, so i'd like to watch with HD component cables but i can't figure out why there is distortion coming in.

If i had another set of components i'd try them, but it's hard to imagine it would be them seeing as they are brand new monsters.

    any suggestions or thoughts?! thanks

sony bravias are one of the best hd tvs out there.. it could just be the wire you are using i had the samve problem with my ps3 and the hdmi cable when i played blurays it was a little fuzzy so i switched the wires and turned the brightness down and it was fine.
try different cables or wiggle them around a little.
