Can someone please tell me the advantage using dvddecypter+dvd2one vs DVDshrink? I find that using DVD Decrypter then having to use dvd2one then having to burn it(I uses DVD Roxio) takes nearly 2x as long as simply shrinking the DVD using DVDShrink. I have great results using both, but seems everyone RAVES about decrypter. I just dont get it? I get the same if not better results using DVDShrink with less time waiting. Am I missing something? I use an older PC Pentium 4 1.4ghz,256 RAMBUS, and TDK INDI 440n Burner. (Process seems to take a total of 2.5hours for dvdshrink and 3.5 for decrypter+dvd2one)
PS I am brand new doing this. Just a few days and have not made 1 coaster yet. I am 6 for 6 using DVDShrink burning DVD9 titles. Any guidance between these 2 3 programs would he appreciated. Tnx to all who respond.

its just a matter of personal opinion. If they use DVD2One, that is the best program possible. If they use DVD Shrink, that is the best program. I say, if you see no difference between the 2, use the faster method. I use DVD Shrink and have yet to have a movie i couldn't backup, and they all look perfect.

I've used both methods, and both work really well. Using shrink to rip and compress takes me a little longer than does the decrypter/dvd2one method, but both are dependable techniques for ripping and compressing.

DVD Shrink will fail to rip some DVD's. That's why I usually use decrypter instead. And since I typically just want the movie only, it's quicker to rip with decrypter and use DVD2One to compress, becuz you have to rip ALL the files to be able to use DVD Shrink to compress.

As sly_61019 mentioned.....it's up to u to decide which is better for you on your system.

DVD Shrink by far is the best tool. DVD Decrypter is the best only for ripping as it can rip some DVDs which Shrink can not.
I don't use DVD2One alot, so I carn't comment on that software being any better or worse lol.

Good luck :D

If you have to compress the movie heavily (more than 20% or so), you have to use the "deep analysis" mode on DVDshrink, which at least on my computer (2.6GHz Pentium) takes already a little less than two hours or so for a 2 hour movie, whereas DVD2one takes only about 20 min. Of course you have to rip the movie first, which takes about 30-40 min or so. Anyway, the dvddecrypter+dvd2one option is usually slightly faster for me. Nevertheless I usually use DVDshrink...I put it on when I go to bed and check the "turn off computer after finishing"-button. In the morning the movie is ready to be burned. I love this method since usually the compression process is so heavy that it consumes all the resources of my computer, so that I can't do any other major processes at the same time.
I personally have found the DvdDecrypter to be one of the bests tools for burning dvds, too. Very reliable and easy to use. I use ImgTool Classic (or similar tools to make an image of the dvd-folders) and the newest dvddecrypter version -> burning the dvd is very easy. It takes more time than using some other burning programs, but I've found the dvd's to be more compatible in other dvd-players when it's burned with dvddecrypter. So the "raving" about dvddecrypter is in my opinion justified - it is a very good tool!!!

I agree also totally on what Bodene said.

Guys thnx for all the info. I know some people that have spent $150.00 on dvdx Platinum and they are having problems copying dvd's. These programs are surely the way to go and are either free or inexpensive.
