Software Update for Sharp Aquos - need help

I'm trying to install the software update on my LC-46D64U and i keep getting a message that a file doesn't exist on the usb for my model. what's the deal. i got the update directly from sharp for my model tv.

 

I know this is a dumb question but, do you actually have the file on your usb media?

 

yes, i saved it to the usb stick and unzipped it. it's not saying that the file is not on the stick, it's saying that it's the wrong file for my tv, even though it's not.

 

When you unzipped it did you unzip it to the root directory or to a folder? I don't have this TV so I don't know about updating it but some devices aren't smart enough to check inside folders.

 

yep, it's the root directory. i emailed sharp. i'll see what they say.

 

I have the same problem, check your serial number, if it's higher than 712891112 then you already have the newest soft/firmware installed, I believe.
