Hi all, new to the forum here...
I'm still using DVDXCopy along with AnyDVD to make back-ups. Is there a better program than XCopy that I should try instead. I have had good luck using DVDXCopy and it's nice that it automatically reads, compresses, and then writes. I know I can use AnyDVD to rip, then a combination of programs to compress and write but XCopy does it all for me. So is there anything similar to DVDXCopy out there that might not be as dated?

Thanks!

I've used DVDXCopy in my opinion it's not as rock-solid as Clone DVD or Nero Recode 2. For me it couldn't reencode some films and others it had to heavily compress even though with Nero Recode I only had to compress them slightly.

Clone DVD is about on par with Nero Recode, except with Recode you can manually set the compression ratio and it gives you more control over choosing which tracks, subtitles and extras you want to keep/disable, etc...

I use Nero Recode 2+AnyDVD, best combination around. There hasn't been a movie I couldn't backup, and most look just as good as the source; minus the extras of course.

Current Specs:
ASUS Leucite P5LP-LE Mobo, Intel D 945G @3.4Ghz, 2x2Mb L2 Cache, 1Gb DDR2 SD RAM @677Mhz, Seagate Barracuda 250Gb @7,200Rpm, GeForce7600GT 512MB GDDR2, ASUSTek Tiger Digital/Analog TV Tuner, Samsung SyncMaster941BW 19" LCD, LG H20L DVD±R/RW DL LightScribe, LG GSA-4167B DVD±R/RW DL, Logitech Z-5500 505Watt 5.1 Surround

Both Zoso and Amir89 are giving u solid advice. I use a mixture of pay for and free as

Anydvd/dvdfabhddecrypter/dvd decrypter/ripit4me/dvd shrink/ fixvts
vob blanker and imgburn.

It's all up to us as what to use, but most of the programs mentioned are far better than the old dvdxcopy (and more user friendly too)

If it wasnt for bad luck, Id have no luck!
