I want to upgrade to a bigger internal hard drive. Currently my hard drive is partitioned into a C: (where all the main files are stored) and D: (recovery). How do I transfer these to my new hard drive?

    Thanks

If you want the new drive to still run your Operating system, you'll need a dedicated copy program like Norton Ghost or Acronis TrueImage. Simply plug in the second drive, make the copy, then start using the second drive to run windows (by changing which drive your PC boots from in the BIOS). You can then get rid of the data on the old drive if you like.

A far simpler way of doing it though would be to leave your existing hard drive as it is, and just buy a new hard drive to store additional data on.

Well to be honest, you're definitely going to find the second route easier. The only reason you'd ever do the first is if you don't want to keep both hard drives in your PC for whatever reason.
