    Hey guys,

Bought a DWL-G510 Wireless Adapter card today .. go to install the drivers and card and come across a weird situation. Every time i try and configure the connection let alone do anything on my computer, the PC restarts. I rang D-Link support to get some information on the situation, but to no avail. I was told to get the latest drivers from D-Link website, although many sites have claimed them to be faulty and cause the same problem for everyone.

Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Take the card back to the store and get a different one. If the newest drivers didn't solve the problem you're better off using another card.

    Ok update:

The D-Link drivers dont even support their own card. I used the Ralink drivers and didnt touch the provided D-link ones. My PC has been up since I reverted to these drivers. One thing I have learnt from this ordeal is to not trust D-Link support let alone their products.

I used a D-Link PCMCIA wireless card in a laptop for about two years using D-Links drivers without any issues - then I had to do a reinstall on the laptop and although I used the same drivers (off the CD) it no longer works, so Im stuck with an ethernet for my laptop at the moment. Can you post a link to the drivers you are using so I can see if they help or if the card has just died.

    Much appreciated.

Ok umm .. do a search on google for Ralink DWL-G650+. If you cant find anything on that, you need to find out what drivers the card runs off, and find the actual chipset drivers made by Ralink, or depending on the revision there is another company but I cant remember off the top of my head, sorry.
