Yes you can. IT will be as a second monitor in windows. First off you need an S-video cord to go to the TV. Usualy ATI gives a cable that plugs in there and gives you composit out and Svid out.

When you have it hooked to the TV you need to enable TV in the software, If using the Catalyst go into monitors. If not using it then right click where there is nothng on your desktop. Select properties and go to the settings tab. Now click on advanced and go to the monitors tab. If that optin is not there and you do not have catalyst installed then go to ati.com and get the newest drivers. You can now only access this optin through catalyst in the new drivers.

    Hope this helps

Oh yeah, Im not sure that by plugging S-video into that conector will work without the special video cable but you can try it. Also forgot that the TV will not display the resolution you have current. You will just get a black screen at that setting. I belive that card can only send 800x600 max. That is also as high as most CRT TV will display anyway. older sets will only display 640x480.I know that newer cards will allow one resolution setting for computer and seperate for TV. Some cards make you have both on same res. Just something for you to play with. If using HDTV you may be able to go higher on the TV res.The display will not be near as crisp as the monitor. You wont be able to read text well.

Ok your almost there. Go to settings in display properties like I said above. Click on monitor two. You will see two check boxes under the device name. Make sure extend my desktop is not checked. Do not select it as primary display. I cant remember the wording but there is another option there to display the same as primary display. Go there and you should see it.

As far as the resolution just play with it. See how high you can go before the screen goes black. It wont hurt your set. You may find it will scroll arround on higher settings. In other words it wont show the whole desktop at once. Just a portion will be visible and will scroll as you move the mouse.

I am thinking you said you got it going but for some reason DVD video wont show up on TV. IS the DVD video showing up on the PC. I know that when you use media player it will take over the TV. In other words only media player displays on TV and not everything on your desktop. That is normal. Res should not have anything to do with displaying DVD on the TV.

Try this. Make sure your res on TV is set to where the whole desktop fits on it without scrolling. Now try to play a video. If the Video is not even playing on the PC then you have a CODEC issue. If it does display on the PC but not the TV then I will have to look into that.

USING the catalyst control panel i got the video to show up on the tv. I was just trying different things all of a sudden there it was,,not sure what i did!but i can select video, and that is mostly what i want it for. Before i got the video going, i got it to show what ever was on the pc screen to show up on the tv. but no video would play. Now the video works, but i can't get any of the other apps to show up on tv. like picts. or slide shows or docs. The pic.of desk top as a above still shows on the tv. but when i select a video it plays.I Will leave it like this for now,and will fool around with later.I appreciate all the time you taken to help me with this.I can't thank you enough. xBILL
