I understand that I can connect my pc to my tv using the vma, dvi, or sd ports through my graphics card. Can I connect my pc to my tv using the hdmi port in my monitor to my tv and see pictures and sound.
I have a Gateway 22" monitor that has vma, dvi, and hdmi hookup.
My graphics card only has vma, dvi, and sd.
Whay exactly is the hdmi in the monitor for.

Also, if I use the sd cable how do I get sound to the tv?

You have a PC monitor you want to connect to a TV? Prob won't work right, even if your monitor has an output, rare, but I have seen them.
