Yesterday I was assembling my new computer.

Everything was operating smoothly as I popped in the OS CD and began the installation process. I then decided to put my side panel back onto the computer; simply because I was satisfied with the way my new PC was operating.

As I am placing the sidepanel back onto the case the wires push back a bit and I hear a little spark. I look up and theres a blue screen claiming theres some sort of error. I restart the computer and now my DVD Drive doesn't seem to operate. The DVD ROM turns on, opens and closes, but it doesn't seem to read the disk.

There is a quick error saying there are no drives available on startup then it goes to a blank screen with the blinking _. I hardly believed I fried my HD, to make sure popped in my older harddrive that was working properly and the same error came up. The only difference after the spark is the DVD Rom no longer sounds like it tries to even read the disk after I place it in. It makes a subtle loading then just stops. The MB is fine, the graphics card seems fine, everything seems to be working.

    Did I fry my DVD-Rom?
