how do you mean, what sort of situation are you in, like have you got windows 2000 and want to upgrade in which case you would have to purchase and xp license (not much nowadays), or do you have an xp key already but no disc??? We need more info please

ok, two things here you can not 'transfer' software from one pc to another in respect to waht you are trying to do. Now the only legal way to put xp on your dads pc would be to buy it, now you can get a copy from the internet and use someone elses code but that is illegal and not really worth it because xp is so cheap. Just buy it from anywhere on amazon it was £55 in us you would get i cheaper. Anway you will get a cd with that and then just pop it in, it will ask if you want to upgrade and you should be able to follow the instructions on screen. Now just a few things before, are you sure your dads pc can handle xp, if it runs slow with xp then you might have to add parts then you would have spent quite a bit by then, might be better if you just put like a few hundred dollars, prob less, and get a second hand xp machine off ebay?
