I am getting you a step by step instruction. Hold on for a few minutes. Let me know what came in the box. Did you get the usb to rs cable adapter?
Billo I received an RCA cable and a RS232 cable but I would use my half rs232 cable with a usb end to the computer
Here is the guide I used. After I got the 1.41 file loaded, I hooked it up to the tv, then to the internet. I went to the S/W update and let it do it's thing. I then set up the sats. One thing. I am using dish pro quad, so I set it us as 119 switch port 110 as port 2. I think the instructions have it backwards. Let me know how it goes. READ ALL THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND THEN READ THEM AGAIN. this is really quite simple. As I have mentioned many times previously, your success greatly depends on the equipment you buy. This is what I bought myself off Ebay: (1) Nfusion Nova Receiver (2) DishPro Plus 1000.2 Satellite Dish DishPro 500 is also a suitable sat dish. (3) Component Cable (4) Cat5 Ethernet Cable 50ft Before we get started, I want to get this FACT ingrained into your psychie before we start. Setting up this satellite system is SUPER EASY. I mean......SUPER EASY. Keep that in mind and your satellite installation WILL be SUPER EASY. You will need to have on your computer the file N-Fusion.exe and the latest bin file which, currently, is bin 1.42. Both files can EASILY be found at ANY FTA satellite forum. Download both and park them on your desktop. Very easy. Serial ports are old and a very outdated way of data transfer and a lot of new computers WON'T have a serial port. Fortuanately, the Nfusion Nova I bought from Sat-Pro's auction on Ebay came with a USB to Serial converter. Use them to hook your Nova into your pc. Nova must be powered OFF from back switch AND plugged into wall. Double click the N-Fusion.exe program that should be on your desktop, then click on the Open File button. From here simply go to the drop down menu and select desktop which will show all of the things you have parked on your desktop. Double click the 1.42 bin file WITH THE POWER STILL "OFF" FOR THE RECEIVER.....click on the "Start Infusing" button. Of course nothing will happen but AFTER you hit this button, THEN reach back and turn on your new receiver. WALLLLA. 1.42 will start to download to your receiver. This takes some time so let it do it's thing. Don't touch anything until you are SUPER SURE everything is finished. When you are sure everything is done, turn off your new receiver using the rear switch, exit out of the program on your pc. Very Easy!!!! I highly recommend the component outputs as opposed to the composite outputs. Composite outputs are the three RCA plugs we have been using for our receivers for the past 15 years. Yellow is video and the red/white plugs are left/right audio. I was running the old RCA cables with my last Viewsat Extreme and when I realized my Extreme had component capabilities.......it was like night and day when I plugged three monster component cables in and got rid of that one little RCA yellow plug!!! Plugs on the component cables are all color coded so it is SUPER EASY to figure out which cables get plugged into what part. The coaxle cable coming from your sat dish plugs into the IF INPUT, the Cat5 cable coming from your router can only be plugged into one place and of course you know where to plug in the power cord. I elected to hardwire my new receiver into my internet router. You can and many do, wirelessly hook up their new Novas into their router but that includes extra hardware and I want to keep this setup guide as simple as possible. You can always go back later and create a wireless connection to your router. BACK OF THE TELEVISION Plug in the color coded component video cables into their proper places. Red/white audio cables get plugged into the red/white ports. Turn on the television and the first thing you will want to do is find the proper input your new receiver is plugged into. Find the input button on your remote and keep clicking it until your receiver's menu shows up. YEAH BABY, IT'S INSTALLATION TIME!!!!!! ANTENNA INSTALLATION Click on the menu button on your remote, select Installation (which means when it's highlighted, just click the "OK" button), select the Antenna Setting and you should be on your Antenna Settings Page. This page is very important and it's a place where a lot of people make their mistakes even though it's all quite easy. So what I am saying is kinda pay attention here. First option is Satellite and it will be highlighted, click "OK". Scroll down with the remote until you see 110.0W ECHOSTAR 8/1. Scroll down until THAT is highlighted, then hit the "OK" button. Scroll down to "LNB TYPE". You can change this setting my hitting either left or right (volume) arrows on your remote. Get it to say "Single DPLNBF". When it does, scroll down until DISEqC mode is highlighted. LO Freq should read 11250 and 22KHz should read OFF which is all good. Now we want DISEqC mode to read Port 2. When it does you should be done. Just to double check, the rest of these settings should read as follows: Multi-Dish Switch Disable Moter Settings OFF LNB Power ON(18V) Search Channels CH All Search If for some reason they don't look like the above, make them look like them. Then hit the "Exit" key on the remote, it will then ask you to Save and "Yes" should be highlighted. Just hit the "OK" button. Now go back to the Antenna Settings page and we are gonna set up the other satellite, sat 119 which should be very easy because you do basically the same stuff you did for sat 110. I will of course show you the small differences but now things should be getting easier and easier for you. Here we go. Highlight Satellite, hit "OK" and go find sat 119.0W ECHOSTAR 7, hit "OK" again. Now the stuff gets CRAZY EASY cause now you want all the settings to be exactly the same as for sat 110 EXCEPT you want DISEqC mode to read Port 2, instead of Port 1. Everything else is exactly the same. How easy is that?!?! Double check, make sure it's all vshizzelled out, press the "Exit" button on remote. "Yes" should be highlighted, then press the "OK" on remote. Now you have BOTH SATS 110 and 119 properly installed on your brand new Nfusion Nova receiver. Can't get any easier then that. Now all we gotta do is scan them for the channels you wanna watch and in about 8 minutes, you're gonna be watchin TV!!!!!!! CHANNEL SCANNING Get to the Installation page where it lists, Antenna Setting, Channel Scan and Edit Code. Select Channel Scan. This part is so easy freakin Co-Co the Chimpanzee could do this part and not mess it up!!!! Highlight "Satellite" and select "110.0W ECHOSTAR 7" which I know you know how to do now. Make sure "FTA only" says "NO". Then scroll down to "Search Channels" and BEFORE you hit "OK" on the remote, make sure it says "CH All Search". If it doesn't, change it so it does. Once it says "CH All Search", hit the "OK" button on the remote and go grab a beer and relax and let the receiver do some work finally!!!!! I know you know by now how to save the work you have done so, save it. Then get back to this page again but this time do everything exactly the same way EXCEPT you're gonna do it for satellite 119.0W ECHOSTAR 8/1. Don't worry about the Multi Sat. Search, you're gonna do one sat at a time so you learn!!!! After you save out of that page, my friends, that is it!!!! You are up and running!!!! I'm also gonna hook you up with some things I learned about this machine that will greatly enhance your viewing pleasure that other receivers don't do. Hit "Menu" on your remote, select "Edit Favorites List". When we are done, you will have a Favorites heading that says Movies which will have nothing but the 300's (all the movie channels). You'll have another favorite called PPVs which will have nothing but the 500's (all the ppvs). Another favorite called Cable which will be all your favorite 100's and 200's (what most other people have from their cable companies). You can make one up called Sports just for all the NBA, NHL, NFL and ESPNs if you want. What this receiver does with it's Favorites that I have NOT seen done on any other machine is it uses the EPG function along with the Favorites. Right now, I hit the FAV button on my remote, I don't get just a list of my favorite channels up on the screen, I get an EPG list of my favorites up on my screen. How cool is that?? I can still watch what I was watching in the top right corner and the onscreen programming guide I am looking at is JUST MY FAVORITES ONLY!!! While it's up, I can hit the FAV button again and my MOVIE favorites will come up on the EPG. An onscreen guide of JUST the movie channels in the 300's. I hit the FAV button again and I get my PPV favorites up on the EPG. On screen guide of JUST the PPVs in the 500's. I hit he FAV button again and my CABLE favorites come up. An onscreen guide of just the 100's and 200's I like. The greatest function on this receiver by far is the favorites function. I never have to dredge thru the 5000's or the 9000's channels. If I wanna see what's new on the PPV channels, I just hit the FAV button a couple times until the PPV Favorites shows up and it shows up as an onscreen guide with the show I am currently watching in the top right corner. I honestly never ever saw that on any other receiver before!!!! Not even my dad's brand new Sonicview 8000 combines hit favorites with the EPG. I'm not gonna do a tutorial on how to set up the Favorites, you guys should be able to knock that one out youselves but I did wanna show you how worth it is to take the time out and set up your Favorites cause it ain't just your Favorites with this particular receiver. It's your Favorites wrapped up REAL nice with their onscreen programming guide. Hook it up......you'll see exactly what I mean. I really hope this guide helps out the total newbie out there. Nothing is perfect and I am sure I missed some things so please, post away any questions or clarifications you may have. I know how intimidating it can be setting up a receiver like this for the first time. Good luck, and may the force be with you!!!! I just remembered something else I did when I installed my Nova in fact, I had my dad do it yesterday to his after we installed it. It was actually one of the first things we did. On the Main Menu page, the page you get when you press the Menu button on your remote, we went down and selected Internet at the bottom. Next we selected S/W Update and then hit the "OK" button and we watched as his receiver updated over the internet. We do that just to make sure we have the absolutely latest software update that has been made for our receiver. When I was learning about all this stuff, I inquired as to what was being downloaded and I found out it was the latest bin. I also learned the reason you must load the latest bin thru your computer when you first get your Nova is that there is NO Internet option available right from the factory. So if you installed your Nova to your tv right out of the box, there would be NO Internet option available. After you hit it with the latest bin, Internet option is now available on your box and all of your future updates will come over the net. You'll never have to touch your receiver again as far as updates go. I also learned they make software updates for our receivers just to make the receivers run better. Nothing to do with ECMs, just to make the box operate better. I have my receiver set to auto update which I recommend for you so if they do create an update for our boxes, it'll just happen and you won't even know about it unless you read about it here at the forums. Bill great walk through but i can't find nfusion .exe.Also i presume this will work for bird 91 bev.I don't have 110&119 found yet with my elip. dish.My buddy is coming to help point if he ever gets here but i think i understand what you have spelled out so far.If you could explain nfusion.exe i might be able to locate it and do what i have to with it.Once again great job it makes things easier when you kind of understand why your doing what your doing with these boxes.
There is a updated bin out. The bin will bet you B3V. You can find all about steeing this up at bindepot.ca. Lot's of good info there.
