well, i got the evox screen to load up correctly and i have it "installed" on my hdd. My new problem, is that even with the f partition enabled, it is empty/has no space. my e has a little over 5G without halo 2, but i want it back on after awhile. Does any one know how i can get the partitions properly sized? i have looked for about a week or two, and am giving up. no help from xbox-scene.com either... I need help badly...i have my xbox's ftp working, i just need the space to be available. I tried to format the partitions, including f, and no help. I would like the space in e, but if i can only have it in f, that is ok. PLEASE, help me! hard-modded xbox, not sure what chip, my cousin gave me the xbox for x-mas. i still have the original hdd from the xbox. i am trying to get a seagate 30GB Barracuda working now. in utils, it says unknown for bios version, if that helps. and it is xbox v1.0 with lock disabled. xbox kernel version 3944 (that might be evox, my dash)i have looked all ove, and am in doubt, please don't leave this thread un-answered for 3 weeks like my other one. Plus, this is my second post, period. i have never used a forum post, until i got the xbox...just to prove i am serious. if i have done something wrong on here, sorry. feel free to yell, i don't know exactly what i am doing. and sorry again for the length...
do you have any autoinstaller disk? if yes, which disk? does it boot? Can you tell me the menu when you boot the disk up? If you dont have the autoinstaller disk, how did you format the 30Gb seagate?
Also make sure you set the 30GB hdd to Master or Cable Select PS: if you see someone really need help and NOBODY help them (like you), you can tell them to come to me.
well, i have the files to make the auto-installer disk, slayers evox installer 2.7, but no blank cds/dvds...i was trying to find a way to do this through ftp, if not, the only way i can do this (as far as i know) is to use it in my external hard drive case, because i only have the one spot for an internal hard drive. the only format i did was through raw commands on flash fxp. Most of the forums i saw for partitioning the drive required a floppy drive, which i do not have...but, like i said, i alredy have evox installed and working on both hard drives (i think i said that, if not, now i did) Thank you, i will. well if you dont have autoinstaller disk, you can full format the hdd with xboxhdm1.9 but I suggest to make the autoinstaller disk. Then you can full format the hdd. That way the xbox can see 100% hdd's space. Let me know if you plan to format the hd with xboxhdm1.9. I will give you some guides.
as for the installer disk, i have tried to make one, but the xbox never reads it...any advice? i used qwix to make the iso (worked for when i originally installed evox, without formatting) i also used dvdfab platinum 4 to burn it. do you think that would work? or would it matter what programs i used? also, for xboxhdm, do i need a floppy? if not, i also think this is the best way...and i would definately like to have a guide on how to do so without a floppy...thank you, very much. sorry it took awhile to post, my internet was down...but i doubt it bothers you. you have been so kind to me, and i thank you (again, i didn't know what to expect, from responses, as this is the only forum i have actually used for support, and not to just download a file) anyways, i will try xbox hdm...do you know where i can get it? preferably not as a torrent, and lastly, what is the approximate file size for it? my net connection is only about 2x dial-up... also, if possible, i want to do this without opening my pc...not too experienced with that and my brother screwed up my pc once this way...just what i would prefer...sorry for any inconvenience...
well. as it turns out...i am mostly just a dumb ass. I never even ran the app that puts slayers auto.iso on my harddrive...sorry. I burned the iso, and it ran perfectly the first time. I tried to do the new install option on a larger drive, and it just booted M$ dash...did i do it right for my 30 GB, or do i have to use retail since it isnt all that big? also, is there any special way i have to turn on my xbox? also, it seemed like it, yet again, failed to make my f:\ a usable drive...is my hard-drive incapable of having this? I am very confused...thanks again for your help...

Ok now turn on xbox with autoinstaller disk inside dvd drive. then goto Format menu and format F drive only. then goto CHANGE STARTUP DASHBOARD and install unleashX dash. reboot xbox and load UnleashX dash. then goto system settings to check for the F drive space. Also to make sure F drive is enable. Here is another the try: If you did the full format OR F drive format only and you did not see the F drive at all, you would try on the retail hdd. How big is the retail hdd? If it is 10GB, you see get the F drive. I think you may have a bad 30Gb hdd.
i think the retail drive is 8GB, at the top it say HD8? anyways, i tried to format F: on it, and it just says F: 0 on the top right for the drive size, as i expected for the 8GB. It does the same thing on the 30GB drive...is it a bad drive? Is there another way to do it? I have tried reformatting the drive in various ways, and then installing the other dashboards, but everytime, it just loads the normal xbox dash. I even tried powering it on in various ways each time...i personally am thinking it is bad...would there be a way to tell using my external pc hd case/connector? in partition magic 8.0, with the 30GB drive in my external case, it SEES that it is 28.x GB, but i am not sure if it is usable... oh, and i took the dvd drive out of the xbox the other day (randomly) and i am pretty sure my chip is an "xecuter," or something like that...if that helps...?
