formatting a hard disk

    i have a hard disk with xp installed and now wish to use the hard disk in another computer.is there anyway i can format it so that i can uninstall the OS on it and use the disk as a backup one?

    You don't even need to uninstall windows, all you need do is plug it into the other PC, go into the BIOS and check that the usual hard drive is set as the first drive in the boot priority list.
