i used to be able to play dvd's on my computer flawlessly but awhile ago i had reformatted my computer and now when i try playing dvds there is video and music by no voices (no narration or character voices) i dont think i need a codec do i? i have surround sound speakers and i have the settings on 5.1 but i only use the front 3 speakers cuz my 2 back speakers dont reach where i want them to, you think the voices just coulda been just in the back at the time?
I had this issue before, I think you need to change what channel you use for the audio. What speakers / sound card / media player are you using?
logitech 5.1 surround sound speakers (only using 3 atm), with soud blaster audigy sound card (idk if its good/bad, it was the only 1 at walmart so im guessing bad lol) and i tried it on VLC media player but windows media player couldnt play it, even though it was 1 of the options in the auto play window that pops up when you first put in cds/dvds
Well, if I'm honest, your speakers are good, your sound card is good and you're using an alright media player. What file is it? (What extension)
its the actual dvd thats not playing the voices, but it does play background music. i just ripped it onto my computer into an .avi file and everything works fine. video, music, and voices so that mean its a codec problem?
