No, as I have said, you either send it back or you use the correct firmware for the model.

I mean that you most likely have a cloned box, but personally I would try the firmware 4.51 for the UK.

If you only bought it, then send it back & look for a refund.

I will send it back if I must but I am trying to get to help to establish the model as I don't know which it is, I have described it as best I can, some people are saying it is SV2 and there is no firmware, but I don't know which model it is.

If as you say that is has The Box on the left hand top - then this is what is referred to as The SV2, and all the firmware is in Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of my post.

From your desription, just to verify for you - you have the SV2 - correct model name Starview 2 The Box hope this helps with identification. And I do not think that anyone has actually said that there is no firmware, we have said that there is no clone firmware for that model, as it is suspected to be a cloned box. But if you can return to your supplier for a refund then it would be the wisest thing to do - otherwise if you wish to take a chance then you will need to flash it with the 4.51. The problem you have now is that you have flashed it with the 2.57 and the supplier could/might wriggle out of the warranty, using that as an excuse.

Try This Courtesy of Fergus >>>>>>>
When its black and white press the tele text button on your tv remote not on the Starview remote when the tele text comes up
just go back off wait about three sec and the colour should come back.if that doesn't work try changing your scart lead.

Make sure you're set to TV Type PAL in user settings. Also remember the TV out scart on the Starview is the only one that supports RGB the other one is only Composite video. If you have a second scart on the tv try that one in case its the telly scart.

Logging off now gorgiz - just to say that each time you turn the box on, it will always boot on with the logo The Box before going to any channel, also with regards to your colour problem, please check and ensure that there is not a problem with your television i.e. loss of colour, if not the case - then you should be able to sort it out by following the previous post.

Glad you got sorted, have you sorted your channels into Alphabetical order so as to enable you to identify what channels are missing.

No probs mate I got fed up with it anyway and didn't want to "butt" in on tonights task after I left so waited for it to finish with a good result as always :).

This is where I am at,

    I have flashed it with,
6.00---6.01----709e beta ---8.00 back on now,

For each one a straight feed with good conections and good signal strength,
After each Firmware flash a factory Reset/Default, scanning on the correct provider and still no channels, after each scan returns Zero TPs/ Channels.
I have run out of idea's, I've done a few of these starviews following the info on here and never come across one like this. As before I am starting to think the tuner is at fault but welcome any ideas.

Malci nice to see you back mate, :)

Got to go now gorgiz, if you are missing certain channels then you can manuall scan for them, you did say that you have a Starview 1 working very well earlier on, so it would be easier for you to identify what frequency your missing channels are on from this box, jot them down and then on The Box go in to Menu, Installation OK - down to Manual Scan OK and whilst on Down Frequency enter the frequency you want and press OK (Do Not Enable using this method) - when finished your channels should appear at the end of your channel listing, just re-order them back into Alphabetical order. Method of entering the frequency, press the left arrow key < until zero's show and then enter the frequency (for example 507.000) type 507000 the dot will appear by it's self - goodnight and good luck.
