I have this unit for my DVR and I was wondering about the USB port. I know you have to pay a 39.99 fee to have it enabled. I was wanting to know if I could buy a 500 GB external HD, and transfer the unwatched programs on it, then watch them from a computer rather than on the DVR box? Does anyone know if this will work? I would rather not pay the fee if this isn't possible. Thanks for the help

If you look at the manual for the 722 that's on the dishnetwork site, it says that you can connect an external hard drive , load what you want onto it, but that you can only play it back through your dish network reciever.

Must be a way to unlock the usb port yourself as well as watching theses tv shows with your PC.
