How many times can XP be installed on one pc? Meaning, i change hardware, mess up files, install something then something screws it all up and have to do a total reinstall of the OS. One OS disk with key for one pc. Last week i had installed something new on my pc and it told me i needed to reactivate my version. I put in the key for it and it would not take it. Had to call M$, talk with someone from India (LOL) and they game me a bunch of numbers to put in so i could activate it. Whats the deal with the limit of number of times to install the OS if you own the disk?

    Hi
Usually about 3 times, microsoft thinking is that anymore than 3 times sounds a bit iffy and that you maybe installing on more than one pc. Stupid really, I have had to reformat at least 7 or 8 times in the last couple of years on my old pc, Usually due to a major virus.
