I downloaded a .rar file (Winrar) and tried to open to burn the contents to a CD-R and it says "no archive found". Any help on what I can do or is this a dead file? Thanks!

just a corrupted file, like praetor says, there's nothing you can do, but a side note: if you're downloading don't ignore .rar files, while .rar and .zip have very similar compression ratios, .rar files do not get corrupted as easily through internet downloads/transfers.
just adding my oppinion on a very good compression format.
