Hi. I just bought a new computer and its working great except when I play certain .avi files it won't have audio or the audio will be only discernable when I turn up the volume on my sub-woofers to the max. Audio is normal when I play computer games, asf files, mpg files, and certain .avi files compressed with MPEG-3 layer. But it doesn't play any audio on .avi files which I actually got from Sharereactor. Not only that I remember all these movie files to play perfect sound in my old computer (AMD K-6 with Rip Tide sound card) but not on this machine. The only difference between the avi files that have sound and not is that the ones without sound has a bit rate instead of a mpeg compression. I think I am missing a vital codec or something but G-spot and Div-fix indicate that I have all the right codecs. I even downloaded Tsumai's minimal pack but still no avail. I currently have x-vid codecs and AC3-codecs on my computer. I cannot believe its a hardware problem so I am guessing its gotta be the software. I read through everywhere but no one seems to have this problem.
