    Hi guys
Ive just recently downloaded this emu and now have no idea where im suppose to install it,i ftp'ed some it over (E/emu folder)but i dont know where to put the kickstart and workbench files?
Ive searched all over the web and no one seems to have created a faq or "how to install" document about WinUAEX.

Any help would be great as im trying to set this up for my missus, she's been wanting to play Moonstone for years:)
    Thanks

I believe you are going to want to put those files in the WinUAEX folder (E:/Emulator/WinUAEX). I have never used that program, but it should work.

I have just downloaded the latest version of this beastie..now at v11.

Looking at the layout it's the same as previous versions. It goes in it's own folder (WinUAEX) in the E:\Emulators or F:\Emulators (or whatever your location is called.. as long as that's where evox.ini says emulators are) exactly how it unzips.

The images will go in the amigadisks folder within the emulator directory..and the kickstart roms will go in the roms folder.. v11 has them in already.

As always you will need to experiment with it. I have never bothered because I have a fully working amiga 1200

    Want v11? http://downloads.xbox360-tribe.org/f-1007/winuaex-v11.html

If you still can't get it working PM me a link to the game you want to play and I will try to get it working ;)

    alt:info:: http://moonstone.classicgaming.gamespy.com/emulation.htm

edit:: you will be real pleased to know it works.. get v11 of the emu and the amiga version images from my links.. unzip the disks completely into the amigadisks folder.. put disk 1 in drive 1 etc until disk 3 in drive 3

Then go down the configuratuon and change the mem sizes to max for all settings.. you can leave the rest alone.. It launches from B and to get past the titles press Y (it seems to work with kickstart1.3, though they say to use 1.5 I don't have it available)

The pad keymapping is wrong.. Need to look up the original joystick and keyboard control lists for this one ;)

Here is the original manual.. http://www.zshare.net/download/72376157d431ea/

and a couple of screenshots taken on the xbox

Hey again and thanks for your help so far.
I was finally able to put WinUAEX on my hd,annoyingly i have to go through XBMC to get to it but thats not the end of the world.
The problem i have now is that when i try and transfer Moonstone across i get an error saying file name too long? shall i just rename them or do i need a program to do this.

Btw im using Unleash V0.38 and WinUAEX V16

Well i put the game on there and things seemed promising, the game loaded up until the Mindscape screen but then i get a software error message.

Any ideas? i seem to have 4-5 version of this game in my roms collection

In the emulator config area.. The error was "this version has been fixed for 2k systems" Look down the config options till you come to the memory type settings and increase them all to max ;)

I will have a look at what they are actually called later, but I had this error also at first.

The error message i got was this,it appears at the top of the screen in a red flashing box,it says
"Software Failure Press left mouse button to continue
    Guru Meditation 00000000b4.000000000"

But i changed the memory as you suggested and the game loaded this time,be it with no sound and running at an incredibly slow speed but its a start all the same

I think that's to do with the version you have. There are many slightly different ones.

I used v11 of the emu because it looked like it was a final rather than a beta.

The relevant parts of my config are::
    ##############################################

    Kickstart:1.3
    Extended Rom:None
    CPU:6800
    CPU Speed:Real
    CPU Compatible:No
    Cycle Exact:No
    Video Chipset:Agnus
    Video Mode:pAL 50Hz
    JIT Cache Size:0MB
    Chipmem Size:2MB
    Fastmem Size:8MB
    Slowmem Size:1024KB
    Fast Copper:Yes
    Immediate Blits:No
    Collision Level:Sprites and Playfield
    Floppy Speed:100%
    Floppy Volume:0%
    Sound Interpolation:Disabled
    Sound Filter:Off
    Sound Quality:Good/Faster
    LEDs:No
    Mouse Speed:100%
    Framerate:1
    Clip Excess Video Borders:Yes

    ##########################################

As you can see they work perfectly, have you unzipped the files right down? (worryingly some people on the xport forums were talking about v16 as though it runs the disks still zipped..)

I will have a look and see if there is a config file for Moonstone anywhere.

This page may help.. http://www.back2roots.org/Docs/Howtos/Configs/ My version of the game is the aga (I think)reports as fixed version in the startup screen, to run on 2M machines.. but runs with the settings I have chosen at random. This is where it is worth always having a pc version of the emulator to try settings.

I upped the exact disk images I am using.. check your PM's for link ;)
