    Hopefully one of you guys can help me with this annoying problem?

    I am running XP Home with Madasafish ADSL access via a Belkin F5D7632-4 Wireless router.

    All was running okay until this evening when the desktop pc (which is hardwired in to the router)is unable to access the 'net. The laptop is still fine (hence the reason I can post this).

    I have tried the following;

    1) Restarting the router
    2) Repairing the connection through Windows
    3) Checked settings through 192.168.2.1, and all appear okay

    I have also tried pinging yahoo.com with 100% success so it is seemingly a setting on the pc............any ideas would be gratefully received!

    TIA

    First try the following on the computer.

    Go to start and then choose run.
    Type "cmd" and press OK
    From the command prompt type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press enter
    Type "exit"

    Try connecting to the Internet. If it still doesn't work, download a program called "winsockxpfix.exe" from your laptop (link here). Copy this file from your laptop to your desktop. Run the application and try connecting to the Internet again.

    Finally, you can try using another browser, such as firefox, to see if it works. You can download it from mozilla.com.

    Thanks for the advice silk42.

    I had updated the firmware a couple of weeks ago and all had been okay since then, but before I saw your response I reverted to a previous back-up and all seems okay now.

    I will keep your tips for future reference though.

    Many thanks.
