I just brought a new dual core laptop and am currently using red kawa ps3 video 9 to encode my divx and xvid videos to mpeg4 AVC. I was looking for some encoding software which supports multithreading so I can get the most out of my processer. Anyone have any suggestions, I thought virtual dub has this capability but not too sure.
You can try Avidemux, it has multithread support: http://en.flossmanuals.net/Avidemux/CreateMpFourFiles If you have Nero 7 or 8, Nero Recode can convert to mpeg-4 AVC, and has also multithread support.
Brilliant, thanks cyprus works great, manage to get full cpu usage rather than 50% with the red kawa program.
