I have not seen much discussion about MAME is the forum but I thought I would at least give it a shot and post my question.

For those who work with MAME what emulators (plug-in?) does MAME + plus have? From what I have been able to find on the net via Google it appears that it plays a wide range of ROMs. I think that it will fit my needs as I have all types of ROMs and looking for one common emulator to run them.

    Thanks

    I have been Using MAME32 ver 122
Works great emualtes a lot of different machines,
As long as you have the BIOS and ROM for emulation.

    Mame32 Overview & History
Mame32 is an emulator. Simply put, it allows a PC to mimic the internal hardware of a large number of stand-alone arcade machines from 1975 to 2000. Combined with the original software from these arcade machines, Mame32 will display and play the games on a PC. The software thinks it’s still running on its original box. Mame32 is the GUI version of Mame, the M.ultiple A.rcade M.achine E.mulator. It has an attractive, elegant, graphical interface which allows the user to forego having to type command line parameters, although it can still be passed these arguments, for example. ‘Mame32.exe dkong -r 1024x768x32 -refresh 85 -effect sharp’. For many, it’s easier to click the icon of the game.

I guess I should rephrase my question. I have been running MAME32 for a couple of years now as well. I also have numerous other emulators running on the same machine. I came across MAME plus plus and it appeared to be able to emulate everything from arcade to Daphne games and everything in between.

The item that really caught my attention was the improvement in the fps. From 5 fps to 50 fps. Now maybe I can play games with large CHD files without any issues. Gauntlet - Dark Legacy would be great to be able to play again. All my ROMs with CHDs files are VERY slow or hang.

    Thanks.
