First off, I am a complete Linux noob. I installed Ubuntu 7.10 and I then installed the KDE environment.
    I'm having 2 main problems:

    1. How can I type in Korean?
    2. Is there any way to run Active X?

Please help if you can, it's driving me mental!

Korean? did you chose that as your location.. if not you should be able to add the locale.. how to do that is another matter

Ask these guys about active X because all you will get for asking that here is abuse  http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=73

As for keyboard, in Gnome at least you can go System->Preferences->Keyboard->Layouts->Add... Don't use KDE, but can't possibly be hidden any deeper than that.

As for active x, I draw your attention here: http://www.cantrip.org/javirus.html Believe me, you're better off damning it to hell and anyone who insists on its use.
